Students who choose to minor in French Studies, German Studies and Hispanic Studies are required to take at least FIVE courses at the 300- and 400-level. Students may not minor in International Literature and Culture. At least TWO of the FIVE courses should be at the 400-level. See the sections on the majors (Parts I, II & III) for a complete listing of available courses. Students who are minoring in one of the languages are urged to include 301/302, the Advanced French, German and Spanish courses in their schedule for the minor, unless they are native speakers of the language. Below is an outline of a suggested minor program for French, German or Hispanic Studies. Students are, of course, encouraged to take more than the minimum of five courses for the minor if they can do so.
Suggested Program:
Hispanic Studies minors may wish to substitute HPS 307 (Spanish for International Business) for HPS 301 or 302; and HPS 305 or 306 (Spain & the New World, Modern & Contemporary Spain and Spanish America) for HPS 303 or 304).
