New Faculty

The Department of Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Cultures is pleased to welcome Dr. Shawn Stein to our department.

Dr. Stein joins us this year as Assistant Professor of Spanish. He holds a Ph.D. and MA from the University of California, Riverside and a BA from the University of Colorado. This semester he is teaching Intermediate Spanish (HPS 201) and Revolution and the Arts in the 20th Century Hispanic World (HPS 494). His primary research interests are in contemporary Brazilian and Mexican culture. His current research projects consider satire, narrative and film. He has spent significant time in Brazil, Chile and Mexico and has also traveled to Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain and Uruguay.
